Dear Veteran and Whanau

In 2022, The Royal NZ Returned and Services Association (RNZRSA) joined Acupuncture NZ and developed New Zealand’s first ‘Veteran Ready’ Certification Process that ensures militarily culturally safe acupuncture services for Veterans and their families/whanau. Certification involved the completion 20 webinars created by US military experts, on the  PsychArmor website. It also involved testing my knowledge of two auricular protocols Battlefield acupuncture, developed by the United States military and is effective for pain, and NADA which is used for addictions and utilised widely throughout the United States and New Zealand.

There is also an Auricular Trauma protocol for PTSD, and the Nada Protocol for addictions.

In March/April 2025, I was an acupuncturist in a pilot study running out of Prorirua RSA, treating veterans for pain and mental health.
