What to expect

Treatments take 40 minutes and cost $89.00.  ACC co-payments are $47.00. If you have an ACC claim, please bring in details of your claim number and date of injury.

I understand that many of you may not be sure if acupuncture is right for you so please email me if you would like more information.

In your first session with me, we will take the time to discuss your health concerns and prioritise them. I will ask about the history of your symptoms (nothing sensitive) along with relevant medical history. I will then explain how I would like to treat you on the day, where I would like to place needles and my reason for this. If you don’t wish to have a needle in a particular place, that is fine. Once we agree, you will receive an acupuncture treatment.

Please inform me if there is any possibility that you are pregnant, or have a history of low blood pressure, medical implants, epilepsy, seizures, hepatitis, HIV, diabetes, heart disease, hemophilia, or other medical conditions so that I may take that into account.

I only use sterilised,  single-use only, individually wrapped, medical-grade stainless steel needles.

Needles are gently placed at carefully selected acupuncture points and then left in place for an average of 30 minutes.  I like to start with some relaxing needles in the ear, then body points. Acupuncture needles are much finer than any other needles, so don’t be afraid. They are not hollow like those huge needles used to inject a substance into your body or to take blood samples. They are much, much finer.  You are the boss and can say that’s enough needles, or I’ve changed my mind at any stage of treatment. You can choose whether to have classic acupuncture or electric acupuncture.

My room is nice & spacious and is located in a National Heritage building Braemer House at 32 The Terrace, Level 3. My room is large and was once a lounge room. There is a very cool old lift in the center of the building.

In addition, I can organise scripts for practitioner-quality supplements for you if appropriate, or refer you to another health professional if I believe it would be beneficial to you.
