Treatments take 40 minutes and cost $76.00. ACC co-payments are $33.00. If you have an ACC claim, please bring in details of your claim number and date of injury. On your first session with me, we will take time to discuss your health concerns and for me to take a history of your symptoms along with relevant medical history and familial tendencies. Then you will receive an acupuncture treatment.
Please inform me if there is any possibility that you are pregnant, have a history of epilepsy, seizures, hepatitis, HIV, diabetes, heart disease, hemophilia, or other medical conditions so that I may take that into account.
As a Traditional Chinese medical (TCM) acupuncturist I treat holistically. This means I won’t treat a symptom without looking for a cause and that I will treat YOU along with your symptoms. My aim is to return you to a healthier state so that your symptoms will disappear naturally and without drugs. I understand that many of you may not be sure if acupuncture is right for you so please email me if you would like more information. I am also happy to give you a call if you prefer.
I only use sterilised, for single use only, individually wrapped needles which mean they are never reused. Needles are gently placed at carefully selected acupuncture points and then left in place for an average of 20 minutes. Don’t be afraid of acupuncture needles as they can’t be compared to any type of needle you’ve seen before. They are not hollow like those used to inject a substance into your body or to take blood samples. Therefore they are much, much finer. I will explain to you what I would like to do, but you are the boss and can say that’s enough needles, or I’ve changed my mind at any stage of treatment.
I may also stimulate the acupuncture points using a ‘moxa’ stick which uses heat to stimulate points, or to improve circulation. Other TCM treatments such as ‘cupping’, Tuina (massage), and Chinese herbs may be offered appropriate for your condition. I use Evergreen Herbs which are produced to Australian GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, and are recognized internationally for safety and quality. Evergreen has formulas to support injury or trauma, better digestion, insomnia, tension, fatigue, hay fever, menopause, and many more health issues.
If you are interested I will explain my TCM diagnosis of your problem to you, plus general theories behind TCM (yin and Yang, and QI) which form the basis of all my diagnosis.
My room is nice & spacious and is located within ‘City Osteopaths’ – a busy, friendly, customer focused practice.
