I’m Janine Nana, and I’ve been committed to the practice of acupuncture since 2006. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) and have continually deepened my clinical skills through advanced training. In 2017, I began studying under Dr. Michael Corradino, the founder of Neuropuncture—a neuroscience-based acupuncture system. This journey culminated in January 2020, when I became a fully certified Neuropuncturist.
I have two acupuncture clinic locations: Wellington CBD and Paraparaumu.
I am one of four certified Neuropuncturists in New Zealand. While many acupuncturists may incorporate Neuropuncture techniques in their clinics, full certification ensures a comprehensive understanding of its neurophysiological foundations and clinical applications.
- My professional registration is with the Chinese Medicine Board of New Zealand.
- I am an ACC as a treatment provider.
Teams -I’m a founding member of Wellington’s Acupuncture for Mental Health Team, and previously, co-founded the Fertility Acupuncture and Childbirth Team. - In 2023, I completed Veteran Competency training, and in 2025, I volunteered at the Porirua RSA.
Reframing my understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine in a neuroscientific context made a lot of sense to me. As a Neuropuncturist, I now have a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of acupuncture treatments, enabling me to communicate with other healthcare professionals in their language, which is reassuring to patients and doctors alike. Being a Neuropuncturist also means mastering Electric Acupuncture techniques, enabling me to copy evidence-based protocols that my patients appreciate.
What is Neuropuncture? It’s an acupuncture system incorporating neuroscience and other Western medical sciences into its clinical applications for pain management, orthopedic conditions, and internal medicine. It is a discipline that combines molecular biology, neurophysiology, nanotechnology, and published research.

On other weekdays, I am in my Waikanae Beach clinic, Island View Terrace.
